Mr. Sarath Mounh
Executive Director

THE FOUNDER

The Khmer-Canadian community continues to face challenges related to social and cultural fragmentation, which limit cohesion, civic participation, and inclusive community development. Addressing these issues requires coordinated, culturally responsive, and community-led approaches.

Under the leadership of Sarath Mounh, a founder with over 30 years of experience in community reintegration and post-conflict resettlement, targeted initiatives have been implemented to rebuild trust, strengthen community ownership, and enhance social infrastructure within the diaspora.

These efforts led to the establishment of the Khmer Canadian Association of Ontario (KCAO Inc.), a provincially registered organization that commenced operations on January 1, 2025, and was formally incorporated on May 1st, 2025 (BIN: 70000 8022; OCN: 1001214651 - TN: 48751285).

KCAO Inc. serves as a platform for capacity-building, collaboration, and advocacy, delivering programs that promote integration, leadership development, and inclusive participation. Through strategic partnerships and evidence-informed approaches, the organization advances social cohesion, preserves Khmer cultural heritage, and strengthens long-term community resilience across Ontario.
